Evaluation
The evaluation provides Ministers, central government agencies and the broader injury prevention sector with information on:
- the success of the Strategy's implementation
- the achievements of the injury prevention sector in terms of the Strategy's overall vision, goals and specific objectives
- the aspects of the Strategy that would be a useful focus for future initiatives.
The evaluation:
- measures the Strategy's vision, goals and objectives and the Implementation Plan's activities and results
- concentrates on the framework's implementation and effectiveness
- incorporates in its design process, intermediate outcome and injury outcome components
- develops baseline measures before and during the 2003/04 year to enable changes in injury prevention outcomes to be monitored over time
- complements the evaluation activities of government agencies, local government, non-government organisations and communities
- draws on and informs the results of evaluation and monitoring by, or for, these organisations where appropriate.
The detailed evaluation framework was developed in consultation with the Government Interagency Steering Group and with advice from the Stakeholder Reference Group and Expert Advisory Panel.
